BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

Work in Unified Fire Authority Information Technology Division to support infrastructure and 25 Fire Stations both locally and remotely.

Process and maintain user accounts and system access. Provide first level software, hardware support for local, remote (Virtual Private Network) and Fire Station personnel. Mobile platform support (iPhones, Android, and tablets).

The Technician II works under the supervision and direction of the Information Technology Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promotes and follows UFA's vision, mission, and values.
• Install, configure, and maintain user desktop and laptop computer population in local and remote facilities.
• Maintain technology asset management with hardware asset and software license assignments.
• Process employee new hire, termination and transfer requests including new computer build and deployment.
• Support users in a help desk environment and assist in resolving issues regarding either software or hardware.
• Track help desk calls and provide trend analysis.
• Maintain Microsoft Active Directory User security and resource access.
• Install, configure, upgrade and maintain network printing, directory structures, including user network rights, security, and VOIP desk phone configurations.
• Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network and application access problems.
• Performing other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

• Ability to troubleshoot network hardware, workstation and server hardware and software and local devices such as printers.
• Knowledge of LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network) operation

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least (2) years of experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems, Office 365 and Teams. Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and application issues. Resolve any issues related to internal and cloud-based infrastructure, such as email, printers, wired and wireless networks, video conferencing and VPN.
• Valid Utah Driver's License
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
