Job Description

Position Title: HR Generalist

Manage worker compensation claims, support recruitment, maintaining personnel files, manage benefits, and manage leave administration. Supports some or all the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, time and attendance, and employment. This position may provide additional focused HR support as the main contact to specific employee classes to include implementation, management, policies, and programs as assigned. Works under the general supervision of the HR manager.

Job Duties/Description:

  • Supports benefits administration including open enrollment, re-enrollment, education, claims resolution, change reporting and reconciliation of invoices for payment.
  • Assist in some recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt personnel, and temporary employees; ensures onboarding is complete and participates in orientations.
  • Maintains employee information in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and other meetings and seminars as assigned.
  • Pulls reports and performs various audits.
  • Works with managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance, corrective action, conflict resolution, counseling, performance, terminations with direction from HR Manager.
  • Manage leave administration to include FMLA, ADA, and disability programs.
  • Keeps up to date with process and procedures for all employee groups.
  • Assist with affirmative action program; filing of EEO-1 annual report, maintains and logs information to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Files and supports employee Worker Compensation claim submission and follow-up, as necessary
  • Provides recommendations and implementing enhancements to current technology, methods and procedures.
  • Assists with training and development.
  • Other projects or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' of HR experience - required
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management (preferred) or similar industry
  • Experience with working in the healthcare industry - strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience with ADP Workforce Now (modules and portal) - strongly preferred
  • Human Resources PHR or SHRM certification, is a plus.
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Excellent communication skills, individual speaks clearly, conducts meetings, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information
  • Exhibit confidence, energy, and enthusiasm
  • Must be a quick learner with a strong work ethic and ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting various deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills, maintains employee confidence and maintains confidentiality
  • Individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Dependability, the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
  • Ability to escalate issues and problems to the HR manager's attention
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

Additional Info:

  • Pay range: $29-$35/hr ($60,320 - $72,800) depending on level of experience
