It is an exciting time at Udacity! We're gearing up to scale globally, and are seeking a talented, hands-on Senior Manager of Accounting to lead and drive process improvements within our Global Accounting team. This is a high visibility role where you will have the opportunity to lead critical transformations within the global Accounting function. Reporting directly to our VP of Accounting, you will be responsible for global accounting activities including general ledgers and consolidations. You will bring with you a solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles with an operational focus, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and work side by side with your team to identify and implement the process improvements that will allow us to scale. What you'll do:

• Manage the global accounting operations for general ledger and consolidations including review of journal entries, detailed variance analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
• Own the monthly global financial close process and preparation of financial statements.
• Create and maintain monthly financial reporting package.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and efficient annual audit execution.
• Oversight of NetSuite ERP including chart of accounts, various modules, allocations, intercompany and FX.
• Streamline and automate accounting processes and systems and enhance internal controls to reduce days for month-end close.
• Work closely with broader finance and internal teams to analyze financial performance, provide recommendations for improvement, and support decision making.
• Provide strong, hands-on leadership, mentoring, coaching, and development to direct reports.
• Ad-hoc projects as needed.

What we value:

• BS Accounting or related degree.
• CPA required.
• 7 years of progressive experience including public accounting and multi-national company.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
• Ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and ever changing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Experience building, developing, mentoring, and inspiring a high performing accounting team in multiple locations.
• Proven track record in making improvements in all areas of accounting practices & policies.
• Extensive experience with NetSuite.
• Candidate must be hands-on, have a strong work ethic, excel in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.

Location: While this is a remote role, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis. We will consider candidates who are currently based in the Western US (PST or MTN time zone). Relocation and/or visa sponsorship not offered.

Compensation: The base pay for this position ranges from $170,000- $205,000 depending on experience and location. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and generous benefits.
