Duties
Located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), Legal Programs Office. EOUSA provides executive and administrative support for the 94 United States Attorneys' offices (USAOs).
The position serves as the Administrative Servies Specialist for Legal Programs, responsible for providing a variety of administrative support services in the areas of contracting and procurement, budget analysis and administration, personnel administration, records management, security, internal controls, mail, copying and other electronic services, forms management, communication services, and property management. Typical work assignments will include:
Performing in-depth analysis of staff and program budget requests by managers and supervisors, employing techniques such as cost-benefit analysis, program trade-offs, and exploring alternative approaches to funding.
Reviewing and editing budget requests to assure they conform to agency and EOUSA requirements.
Providing advice and guidance on various personnel matters and activities.
Analyzing the full range of procurement and purchasing services requirements.
Making purchases within delegated monetary authorization and guidelines.
Advising management on security requirements and policies.
Analyzing and evaluating current office systems and develop new or alternative procedures to improve the effectiveness of work methods and procedures.
Maintaining property records, overseeing property inventory, and disposing of excess property.
Assuming responsibility for a variety of special projects.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation

Qualifications
GS-12: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: working with guidance providing support and in a variety of administrative services areas such as human resources, purchasing supplies and equipment, participating in budget matters, security, space management and telecommunications management, internal controls, office automation, and records management.
GS-13: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: providing expert guidance and advice while analyzing and overseeing administrative support services in areas such as human resources management, contracting and procurement, budget, security, space and telecommunications management, supply/property/inventory management, and records management.
Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)-The CTAP provides eligible surplus and displaced competitive service employees in the Department of Justice with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your Department of Justice component has notified you in writing that you are a surplus or displaced employee eligible for CTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your CTAP eligibility, 2) you apply under the instructions in this announcement, and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.
