The HRIS Specialist is a subject matter expert for the HR systems and tools. The primary focus of this role is the support and maintenance of HR systems, tools, and processes. This role is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of the Human Resources Information Systems, ensuring data integrity and effective HR system utilization.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the company’s human resource information systems (HRIS) with a strong focus on configurations and administration ensuring information is entered accurately and timely.
  • Identify and monitor the integrity of the employee data in HR Systems e.g., employee data, payroll & benefits through analysis, auditing, and research.
  • Provide support for HR systems including, but not limited to, researching, and resolving problems, unexpected results, or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
  • Assist in the review, testing and implementation of HR system upgrades or patches. Collaborate with company representatives and vendor resources to coordinate application of upgrades or fixes. Maintain and document process and results.
  • Recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or variations from established policies and guidelines to meet the needs of the business. Serve as a key liaison with third parties and other stakeholders (e.g., payroll vendors).
  • Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports for ongoing company needs. Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries, performing regular audits, and analyzing data.
  • Develop change management plans, user procedures, guidelines, and documentation. Train users on new processes/functionality. Train new system users.
  • Research and understand current trends in HR tools with a focus on product and service development, delivery, and support, and applying key technologies. Continuously increase both HR knowledge and HR application/tools knowledge. Participate in user group meetings/conferences.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills required to draw sound operational and financial conclusions, coupled with an attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Successfully manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment with the flexibility to adjust to constantly changing priorities and schedules
  • Effectively handle confidential and sensitive information, and a variety of situations with professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and foster a cooperative teamwork environment
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
  • Identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
  • Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions
  • The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with MS Office Suite of tools
  • Experience with HRIS and reporting tools such as ADP or Paycor
