Two Hands Denver is Hiring a Head Chef Near Denver, CO

Two Hands Hospitality is hiring a Head Chef for our restaurant on Tennyson Street, opening in spring 2024 and serving breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner.

Two Hands Hospitality is a group of community-focused Australian restaurants. Serving breakfast through dinner, we fuel your lifestyle with fresh, delicious food, cocktails, and coffee.

We are a fast-growing, innovative hospitality group with three restaurants in NYC, locations in Austin and Nashville, and more on the horizon. The Two Hands approach to food is that it is good for you, good for the environment, simple, and tastes good. At Two Hands, our goal is for our ingredients to come from local farms to support our communities in Colorado, New York, Texas, and Tennessee.

The candidate will work alongside the group executive chef, GM, and CEO to manage and execute daily kitchen operations. The head chef s goal will be to ensure that standards of quality and financial parameters are met so that customers enjoy a superior experience and business runs as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Management experience in restaurants similar to our concept or comparably fast-paced, high-volume, and innovative
  • Ability to work with and implement direction from core management team
  • Advanced knowledge of and willingness to work all stations in a professional kitchen, prep and line (larder, grill, fry, expo)
  • Understanding of and ability to manage financial requirements of a kitchen: COGS, portion control, recipe costing, invoice monitoring
  • Mature leadership, teamwork, and people management skills
  • Valid Colorado food handlers card
  • Punctuality
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Ability and willingness to lead, have fun, and work well with a team
  • A love for food and willingness to try new foods

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Create and follow detailed recipes, prep schedules, and systems
  • In conjunction with the executive chef, plan, create, and execute menus for each restaurant location according to seasonality, trends, and brand
  • Plan, create, and execute menus for on- and offsite catering events
  • Manage training and performance,following and executing training protocols and systems
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization which exceeds DOH standards at all times (labeling, rotation of stock, cleaning self-managed workstations, adherence to recycling and environmental protocols and cleaning schedules and processes)
  • Identify and repair minor kitchen maintenance issues; report and seek repair of equipment from manufacturer, service reps, or technicians

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

  • Minimum starting salary of $75k (negotiable depending on experience)
  • $5,000 annual bonus, paid out biannually, dependent upon performance reviews
