Job Description 

Receiving Manager who is an organized, attentive, and dynamic leader. The receiving manager coordinates with buyers, warehouse teams, and logistic vendors for all inbound shipments. The candidate not only oversees inventory and staffing but must also be familiar with every position on the team to ensure everyone completes tasks in a timely fashion. The receiving manager should have experience working with Asian produce (highly preferred), adapt quickly to changing business conditions, and have a constant drive for company-wide and team-improvement. The receiving manager may be involved in hiring and disciplining associates as needed. Other duties as needed to assist on warehouse floor.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

1. Review, schedule, and plan for all incoming shipments.

1. Coordinate with Buyers and logistic vendors for order status and plan for any anticipated problem with the shipments. 

1. Review, inspect, and ensure all incoming shipments meet company standards for quality and accurate quantity counts. 

1. Manage staffing and scheduling on a week-to-week basis to meet changing business demands. 

1. Manage staff’s performance and productivity levels. 

1. Maintain food safety standards and safeguard receiving procedures by maintaining and establishing best-in-class protocols. 

1. Train new associates to unload, stack, and distribute products to appropriate locations. 

1. Train new employees on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities Follow-up and audit performance to ensure continuous growth. Maintain efficient operations by planning and implementing new strategies as needed. 

1. Lead by example and contributes to team effort by coaching monitoring, and appraising job results. 

1. Confer with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of the department. 

1. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications. 

1. Be able to work on flexible schedule and long hours. 

1. Be able to work long hours and stay after scheduled hours. 

1. Show leadership and engage with the team.

Requirements and Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred but not required. 

1. Three or more years of warehouse and supervisory experience required.

1. Experience working in organizations of 10 people. 

1. Experience working in produce (preferred) / ethnic produce (highly preferred)

1. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is essential. 

1. Ability to multi-task, work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

1. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. 

1. Efficient in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks 

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and management and leadership skills. 

1. Strong professionalism, organizational and planning skills. 

1. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and over 50lbs with assistance. 

1. Ability to lift and carry waist, shoulder, and overhead high. 

1. Ability to work in a cold and hot environment. 

1. Ability to be flexible with early schedule and holiday schedule. 

1. Ability to walk, stand, and sit for the duration of the work shift.
