Tropical Smoothie Café is Hiring a Director, Operations Support Near Atlanta, GA
Works collaboratively to support national promotions, brand initiatives and technology projects. Leads the in-cafe testing of new products, equipment, packaging, processes, and technology. The Director of Operations Support provides a detailed testing summary and recommendations for the next steps after each test. Note: This position may have all or partial accountabilities listed below.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Director of Operations Support is a contributing member of cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of marketing promotional windows, technology implementation, and other brand initiatives.
- Ensures the success of national marketing promotions by providing recommendations for training tools and content that is accurate and enables the learning process.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of our back-office system that provides inventory, scheduling, cash management, and check list capabilities. Provides training and coaching to our field team and franchisees to increase adoption of the platform.
- Creates and executes in-cafe operations test protocols.
- Leads the in-cafe operations testing process. Trains, monitors, and evaluates throughout the testing process. Communicates any barriers and or process improvement needs to the project leader.
- Provides detailed analysis and recommendation at the end of each test.
- Works with the brand Chef to develop and document procedures for all marketing promotional windows and test products. Ensures new procedures align with standard operating procedures.
- Evaluates new equipment and smallwares as needed to support product development and to simplify operations.
- Identifies and aligns solutions and proactively implements process improvements for the brand.
- Maintains high-level of service with vendors, franchisees, and TSC team members.
- Conducts ongoing visits to cafes to maintain operational knowledge and skills.
- 5 years leading restaurant operations (multi-unit).
- 5 years working with and supporting franchisees.
- 5 years of knowledge with practices and procedures with QSR or restaurant operations.
- 3 years leading the operations testing processes with QSR or restaurant operations.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong reasoning, analytical and active problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others.
- Ability to multi-task effectively prioritizing work again deadlines.
- Ability to build networks of people and utilize resources in person and remotely.
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree – preferably in business or related field of study.
- Demonstrates ability to build relationships and work effectively with others at all levels of an organization.
- Strong understanding of the operations work processes including the interaction with accounting/finance, purchasing, and support services departments, and their interaction with retail operations.
- Understanding of P&L statements, budgeting, and expense management.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate at all levels of an organization and clearly and concisely express opinions, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Strong analytical, planning and time management skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Travel for meetings and cafe visits.
- Must be comfortable working in a small company, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
- Minimal hazards. General office working conditions.
- This position has no direct budget accountability. However, through performance of essential job duties, this position can impact company costs and profitability.
