POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join our growing Operations team. This position is to be based in our Palo Alto office. This full-time position will be responsible for providing vital support to the operations team, especially to the COO. As our Chief of Staff, you will assist in planning and directing the day to day functions of all operations globally. This individual will report to our COO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as a strategic advisor and counsel to the COO in global operations matters
• Act as a proxy for the COO on certain projects and decisions
• Play a lead role in influencing the Technology roadmap based on the needs of all functions in Operations
• Create and maintain cross-departmental relationships to ensure leadership success and flexibility.
• Act as a direct point of contact for all internal operational questions directly related to the COO
• Lead the Operations budgeting process annually and ensure adherence to that budget
• Serve as a subject matter expert in global employment, payroll, and operational functions
• Support the day to day needs of the senior operations team and COO, including critical business decisions and development
• Develop, maintain, and exert knowledge of country competencies
• Strategically manage priorities for the operations department, evaluating importance of opportunities and determining specific next steps
• Oversee and execute on large organization-wide projects or initiatives
• Effectively manage without authority across functions to ensure the success of projects and initiatives
• Build and develop relationships with all employees to ensure the successful adoption of Operations initiatives and changes
• Serve as a go-to resource for our client service, payroll, and global operations teams
• Be a worker among workers
• Perform other key duties as may be required by the CEO, COO, and other colleagues of Velocity Global

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• Driven to succeed with high expectations and high standards of excellence
• 8-10 years of proven experience organizing and handling multiple operational departments globally
• 2-3 years of direct management experience preferred
• Excellent communicator in both verbal and written form
• Experience assisting in planning and leading business initiatives
• Data analysis and budget management experience
• Ability to move with velocity and act quickly, juggling operations over 180 countries
• Unmatched personal integrity and professional ethics
• Experience in global employment, payroll, and corporate compliance is a plus
