Responsibilities:

• Develops, plans and implements safety procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and limited rules regarding the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA).
• Advises management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
• Administers the Airport Authority’s Safety Program, including updating written programs to prevent, correct, or control unsafe conditions.
• Supports Company's CFR Part 139 Safety Management System (SMS) compliance program.
• Maintains safety files and records. Compiles information for OSHA 300 reporting; produces annual and monthly reports; attends all MIOSHA inspections and MIOSHA-related issues.
• Coordinates on site conferences as required for Company incidents and supports contractor responsible incidents.
• Ensures all OSHA mandated physicals (i.e. audiogram and fitment) are performed for new and existing employees on a required basis.
• Coordinates and plans training with various departments and vendors.
• Performs safety surveys, and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative actions.
• Assists with post-accident investigations and prepares reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards.
• Performs routine safety audits and inspections in all employee work areas and across the airport premises.
• Manages and participates in safety review process for construction projects, which includes CSPP review and approval.
• Establishes policies and develops processes for abatement, appeals, fines, etc.
• Assists with management of emergency response contracts, is available during and after business hours to respond to events and coordinate emergency responses with restoration contractors.
• Performs, or assists with occupational sampling for exposure assessments.
• Records data in databases for reporting and evaluation of metrics.
• Prepares reports as required.
• Participates in the Airport Authority Safety Committee Meetings.
• Participates in employee-related safety committees, as well as safety committees established by tenants, concessionaires, and/or airlines as requested.
• Assists with general liability claims when related to public safety issues relating to injuries or property damage.
• Assists with insurance carrier property inspections and other insurance matters as deemed necessary.
• Manages contractors performing tasks for Risk Management.
• Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed

Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• A valid Driver's License and a safe, acceptable driving record.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. 

Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree and Five (5) years of full-time progressively responsible management experience which includes oversight of a safety awareness program and handling safety sensitive management information.
