Three Rivers Ambulance Authority is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Fort Wayne, IN

Summary:

This position reports to the Executive Director. Responsible for the Human Resource Department and processes for employment, compensation, benefits, training recruiting, and employee relations and to maintain effective human resource processes to fairly administer consistent company standards. Tracks and analyzes safety and health incidents. Maintain regulatory compliance for safety, health, and risk management issues. Oversight of payroll and benefits process.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of compensation, benefits, and human resource processes to ensure fair and consistent labor management while also ensuring regulatory and company compliance in all aspects of the payroll system.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates as required, all employee information records, personnel files, and appropriate databases and ensures accuracy of employee status and headcount.
  • Perform headcount analysis and provides timely weekly/monthly reports of headcount status such as terms, FMLA, LOA, retention, and attrition rates.
  • Consistent tracking of all employees on Leave of Absence, to include, but not limited to, Military, FMLA, and tracking all benefits and employee paid premiums for the duration of the leave, making sure all physical capability forms and physical agility tests are complete prior to employee returning to work.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and county requirements and company policies and procedures (i.e., SOP’s, CAAS accreditation standards, HIPAA).
  • Create and maintain positive working relationships with employees.
  • Interact with other departments and their members to facilitate increased productivity, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Answer routine inquiries, both internal and external, on subjects such as employment verifications, job openings or benefits, related pay issues, and policy questions.
  • Assists employees with disability insurance claim requirements for non-work-related injuries or illnesses, tracking all benefits and employee paid premiums for the duration of the disability, making sure all physical capability forms and physical agility tests are complete prior to employee returning to work.
  • Track, Identify, and analyze safety and health-related incidents to identify high-risk areas and procedures.
  • Implement appropriate education and training processes to decrease incidents and increase safety.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance related to safety, health, and risk management issues.
  • Ensures the provision of employee health services regarding immunizations, testing and post exposure follow up.
  • Maintain active involvement and leadership of safety committee and Incident review board.
  • Responsible for incident investigation, reporting and management of claims files.
  • Oversees the employee light duty program and assists with light duty staffing assignments and schedules.
  • Responsible for tracking employee retention agreements and bonuses paid.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of Human Resources experience with knowledge of human resources functions and laws.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • HR credentials preferred (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM CP/SCP)

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with payroll and personal information.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining vigilant attention to details.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • Highly organized, critical thinker focused on continual improvement.
  • Technologically savvy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems
  • Dedicated, responsible individual with the highest level of judgment and integrity.
  • Positive, results-oriented personality, effective communicator, and team player
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations

Physical Requirements:

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  • May be required to lean, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
