Heritage Property Management, Inc. is seeking an individual with high energy to join our team as a Chef/Cook/Food Service Manager for a senior living community in Grand Haven, MI.
We are looking for someone with great communication skills, the ability to provide excellent customer service to our residents, having great home cooking and kitchen knowledge and skills, along with strong detail, budget conscience and organizational abilities. EEO
Job requirements:
· Must be of legal driving age and have current legal driver’s license. Must have a regular, reliable means of transportation and attendance
· Punctual and prepared to work at the scheduled start time every day.
· 10 years experience working in a commercial kitchen setting - restaurant or catering knowledge and skills a must
· Full time – 40 hours per week / Monday thru Friday – usually 10:30am -6:30pm – flexibility required.
· Excellent communication skills (written & verbal). Must be able to read and write.
· Ability to supervise and work cooperatively with staff within the department and in other departments.
· Strong detail, organizational abilities and time management skills.
· Ability to take initiative, work independently and follow tasks through to completion. Work well under pressure.
· Willingness to work and interact with older adults.
· Must be able to stand or move for majority of work schedule
· Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs.
· ServSafe certified required
Job Responsibilities:
· Conducts all business in accordance with company policy and procedure, know and understand the employee-handbook, the Standard Operating Procedures for the Food Service Department, Fair Housing policies, and all other federal, state and local laws.
· Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the food service department and company as a whole
· Responsible for maintaining proper/hygienic food handling techniques and the overall sanitation requirements of a food service area and the personnel. ServSafe Certified.
· Properly prepares, measures, and portions all food items in a timely manner. Complies with all quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
· Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly and ensures freshness and quality of all menu items.
· Ability to cost food appropriately for budget.
· Plan weekly menu (8 week rotation) and purchase food, as required.
· Set-up, break-down, and clean-up serving line and all food areas.
· Set-up and clear tables in the dining room for dinner time (and/or events) maintaining sanitary conditions.
