Position Summary

The Senior Solutions Architect will be part of the Solution Architecture and Project Management team within TCW’s Technology group. The individual will bridge across technical teams, business stakeholders, and operations personnel to generate approaches to solve the most complex business and technical problems. They will need to have a broad understanding of the financial service sector, vendor landscape, and application development practices and devising approaches that cut across all these domains. Additionally, this role will have a heavy focus on risk management, cost management, and operational efficiency optimization.

TCW is undergoing a large business and technology transformation. As such, the Senior Solutions Architect will quickly assess the overall technical strategy of TCW and be able to propose to a future state model. They should then be able to collaborate and influence the organization to solidify the approach. This candidate should be well versed in common SDLC platforms, market trends, and vendor solutions. Cloud development expertise will be needed to determine the optimal future state which will include both cloud vs on-prem solutions. Finally, this individual will be able to create a comprehensive project, resource, and testing plan that can take the future state from conceptual diagrams through implementation.

Essential Duties

• Independently, or as part of a team, define product strategies that is in line with the business strategy
• Evaluate the internal capabilities and vendor landscape to synergize technical solutions to meet business and engineering needs
• Create standards and policies for the Solutions Architecture team to ensure repeatable processes are available
• Produce comprehensive documentation for the Solutions Architecture team, as well as senior business, operations, and engineering leadership, to manage specifications, coding, testing, and rollout strategies
• Create and facilitate working sessions with a broad range of functional teams including engineering, operations, business, compliance, legal, etc.
• Communicate effectively, including facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution, with a wide variety of technical and business experts in both individual and group setting in all phases of the development lifecycle
• Communicate status to the most senior members of the TCW leadership team
• Large scale technical project management capabilities to create plans, anticipate issues, and interact with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;
• Must have the ability to “get into the details”

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 10-15 years of experience as a Solution Architect or Senior Engineering manager
• Experience in collaborating on new product designs and features and aware of the critical milestones toward delivery of new products
• Proven knowledge of solution design, SDLC, software development practices, and systems analysis
• Strong understanding of collaborating with user communities to develop and drive user experience (UX)
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present information in various forms such as textual, graphical and statistical
• Resource management experience
• Familiarity of cloud vendor solutions, and ability to propose solutions based on vendor capabilities
• Financial services expertise, and preferable Asset Management experience

Desired Qualifications

• MBA preferred
• Knowledge of Azure and Snowflake architecture
• Experience with portfolio management vendor systems (e.g. Aladdin by Blackrock)

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For NY based position, the base salary range is $180k to $225k . This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
