Join the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP) Pathways Team.

We are dedicated to empowering persons with developmental disabilities charged with a felony crime to acquire the skills needed to become competent to stand trial, and to acquire the skills and supports that will prepare them for success in their future environments.

The Developmentally Disabled Defendant Program in Chattahoochee seeks a full time Administrative Assistant II for the Superintendent.

This is a professional position providing administrative support to key Executive Leadership staff, to include the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and the Forensic Attorney.

Prepares and distributes announcements of activities and other program information.

Manages the communication of the Superintendent, including receiving, screening, and responding to written correspondence.

Proofreads, edits, and prepares documents and reports.

Arranges travel and prepares or arranges for the preparation of travel documents, and forms for managers.

Schedules and coordinates meetings, including preparation and distribution of agendas and minutes.

Coordinates the filing and service of court reports on residents in a timely and efficient manner. Tracks and maintains database on court reports for processing.

Prepares appropriate cover letters and model pleadings and orders to accompany court reports and/or notifications and distributes the documents to the appropriate officials and Agency personnel.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Administrative or Clerical experience
  • A valid driver’s license. License suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/ Employment/Education only license) and some types of restricted license are not acceptable. Licenses that have “Corrective Lenses Restricted,” are acceptable, provided the driver wears the corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.

This position is located at a 24-hour facility. Staff members must be agreeable to working a shift schedule; regular, evening, or night. Days Off: Varies.

Employees may be required to work additional days/hours based upon the needs of the facility and center. This includes, but is not limited to ensuring facility coverage, activities, holidays, and emergency situations.

  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing, or report writing.
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
