SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking a Manager, Special Events. As a member of the Advancement Department, the Manager, Special Events will take a crucial role in booking corporate and private events in the various museum spaces, including the Wright Restaurant, Ronald O. Perelman Rotunda, and Peter B Lewis Theater. This position will also manage location shoots, develop and execute internal cultivation events, and support the Assistant Director and Director of Special Events.
SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:- 2-4 years of Special Event and/or event production experience required, with a focus on the arts preferred.

- Ability to work onsite and maintain flexible hours, including evenings and overnights.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversee and execute all rental events in the Wright Restaurant and Peter B. Lewis Theater. Manage the Rotunda rental program in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Special Events, by fielding event inquiries, leading site visits, and supervising on-site vendors and clients.
- Ability to work onsite and maintain flexible hours, including evenings, overnights, and weekend hours.
- Identify new sales channels and strategies for corporate and private rentals to meet associated revenue targets and build a portfolio of returning clients.
- Responsible for proactive client networking, contact development, and marketing for rental events in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Special Events, the Corporate Development team, and the Catering Director.
- Manage all contracts, insurance requirements, and budgets for rental events, location shoots, and vendors. Process all associated invoices and gift transactions.
- Liaise with key project stakeholders on an ongoing basis, including but not limited to a broad range of museum staff, including Security, Art Handlers, Catering, Facilities, Lighting, Curatorial, and Visitor Experience, as well as third-party event production teams, vendors, and clients during setup, event, and breakdown.
- Responsible for enforcing museum guidelines onsite to preserve and protect the building and artwork and ensure all production is completed safely.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Special Events on event production for the Guggenheim International Gala, Celebration of Students, and YCC Party, in addition to exhibition opening events, film and photo shoots, and internal cultivation events.
- Perform general administrative duties including maintaining the department email inboxes and department records and reference materials.
- Manage the Special Events department’s master calendar of on-site events (including fundraising, rental, exhibition openings, and internal events) in the Artifax platform and digital events in the Basecamp and Zoom calendars. Coordinate event schedules/ calendaring on behalf of the Assistant Director of Special Events, in concert with the Director’s office, Education, Public Programs, Theater, and Exhibition Management departments.
- Compile all post-event data and migrate data reports into Salesforce. Analyze event trends; audience reach, and successes to support increased event growth year-over-year.
WORK DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT:::- Ability to travel within the metropolitan area as required to perform the above duties at any of the Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.

SALARY RANGE: : :$67,000– $72,000 Annually
