RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE NEW YORK is Hiring a Special Events and Sponsorships Officer Near New York, NY

RMH-NY seeks a talented, entrepreneurial professional to join the Development Team to support the corporate engagement efforts that raise unrestricted revenue for the organization.

The Special Events and Sponsorships Officer reports to the Assistant Director of Development. The Special Events and Sponsorships Officer will support key marquee fundraising events throughout the year including vendor and venue management, coordinating and scheduling, design of both print and digital materials, donor communication and stewardship and more. 

The Special Events and Sponsorships Officer will also focus on lead generation, prospect research and development of tailored and individualized presentations and materials for prospective donors while partnering w the Assistant Director of Development and internal corporate engagement team.

The salary range for this role will be 70K - 80K. This will be a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.

Role/Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Special Events: Provides support as assigned across all special events with significant focus on annual Fun Run and Masquerade event. Support admin, communications, vendor management and donor relations. 
  • Sponsorships: Conduct prospect research anddevelop tailored and individualized presentations in partnership with senior manager and internal corporate engagement team
  • Digital & Website: Function as platform super user and admin across team, setting up new events and team pages as needed, trouble shooting with donors, pulling reports etc. 

Special Events

  • Support Annual Kids Fun Run Peer-2-Peer event (Fall)- Handle aspects of online fundraising and reports to ensure all onsite details such as t-shirt/prizing is accurate. Work directly with Team Captains to ensure they have all elements needed for soliciting runners, registration how to and encourage them to spread to their school/students. Assist all captains/parents/kids with registration issues. Communicate with all previous runners via e-blasts on updates/run info. Preparing/staging onsite materials for the event & RMH-NY Volunteers 
  • Liaison with outside vendors as assigned to ensure all logistics are prepared, organized and set for the event
  • Lead silent auction logistics including website set up and communication w. donors 
  • Provide Day of Support and logistics across all fundraising and special events as well as communication and scheduling w. vendors and venues as assigned
  • Collaborate w. volunteer dept. to request/address Volunteer needs and oversee day-of event volunteers

Sponsorships

  • Conduct Lead generation and prospect research 
  • Develop proposals and presentations that are tailored and individualized aligned with our mission and their values/objectives 
  • Provide Research/Admin Support related to sponsorship efforts across events including but not limited to scheduling, communications, material design, presentations, research etc. 

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, sales and marketing or related experience; international fundraising and/or special events experience preferred. 
  • Preferred experience in Salesforce, Canva & Classy 
  • Preferred experience in lead generation and pipeline management 
  • Experience developing presentations and other materials to support donor engagement and special events
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant experience
  • Must be able to proactively research, and identify new business opportunities 
  • Individual must be an independent, self-starter who has a history of working with little direction and turning conceptual direction into executed strategies

  • This job is located in the same facility where RMH-NY provides temporary accommodations to pediatric patients and their families while the patients are undergoing active medical treatment at area hospitals. For some RMH-NY guests, medical treatment may include radiation therapy. While radiation therapy is never administered at RMH-NY, there is the potential for some radioactive material to be present in guests who have undergone radiation therapy. Based on radiation measurements performed throughout RMH-NY, it is not expected that individuals working at RMH will receive radiation doses that would exceed the general public limit (100 millirem per year).
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Noise levels often increase with families and children who have temporary residence in the building as well as guests and musical performers for special events as well as mechanical equipment
  • Some weekends and evening hours may be necessary for this job
