Job Summary:The Immigration Paralegal will assist in various components, both pre and post-filing, of various case types, including those on a humanitarian track.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must have 2-3 years of experience working in an immigration law office,
  • The ideal candidate should be proficient in using Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, and have excellent spelling and diction.
  • Candidates must be reliable, empathetic, and capable of handling sensitive topics.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of humanitarian immigration applications (such as VAWA, U, and Ts) and have the basic knowledge and ability expected of an immigration paralegal experienced in preparing and filing immigration applications for USCIS.
  • Is desired that candidates are proficient in a second language

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with clients to confirm and clarify information, and finalize legal packets for VAWA, T visa, and Adjustment of Status applications
  • Perform edits to affidavits and immigration forms as requested by attorneys
  • Monitor deadlines and court appearances, and file immigration applications according to deadlines and priorities
  • Communicate with USCIS and EOIR regarding cases
  • Assist the attorneys with legal research as needed
  • Communicate and work with a highly structured team and system with a striving and positive attitude
