POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Executive Director is responsiblefor assisting the Executive Director in the operation and management of thecommunity in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Community andfederal/state/local laws and regulations, including, but not limited to, thefollowing responsibilities listed below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Assist in the administration, selection,employment, discipline, and discharge of all personnel in accordance withadministrative policy.
  • Supervise and/or assist with various departmentsas assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Ensure efficient operations and compliance withthe financial goals established in the approved budget.
  • Actively participate in marketing the servicesof all areas as requested ensure achievement of goals established in the annualoperating budget.
  • Assist in development of Operating and CapitalExpenditure Budget for the community.
  • Assist in preparation of variance analysis ofMonthly Financial Statements utilizing Owner’s format.
  • Participate in the Level of Care committee.
  • Promote a positive and efficient work atmosphereby assisting in establishing an organization, which has a formal system ofaccountability and clear chain of command.
  • Actprofessionally and honestly at all times in the representation of the Communityconcept of senior living.
  • Maintain a close liaison with residents andtheir organizations and communities, keeping informed at all times of theirdesires and requirements.
  • Maintain and safeguard the property of thecommunity in accordance with accepted policies.
  • Exercise sound fiduciary responsibility whileadhering strictly to the established policies and procedures of the Owners.
  • Cooperate to the fullest extent possible withall municipal, county, state, and federal agencies, departments, bureaus andcommissions which maintain or exercise any regulatory authority over thecommunity to include Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness policies andprocedures.
  • Cooperate with all professional organizations,which have an interest in the medical, nursing, social service, educational andrecreational aspects of the community.
  • Represent The Community and its organization tothe community, including membership and active participation in community andprofessional organizations, to the extent duties at the community allow.
  • Pursue a personal program of continuingeducation in all relevant aspects of the senior living industry as determinedappropriate by management.
  • Participate in planning and implementingstrategies established for the efficient and effective operation of the community.
  • Participate in the development of the annualbusiness plan by department, which supports the general long-range plan for thecommunity.
  • Participate in all staff activities designed todevelop teamwork, unity and promote morale.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The AED will supervise the Department Managers of the Assisted Living and Memory Community.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Hospitality, Health Care, Business Administration or a health relatedfield; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Minimumof three years managerial experience preferably in the senior living, healthcare, or hospitality industries.
