We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker (CSW) to join our team. Position Overview: The Community Support Worker (CSW) will play a vital role in providing direct support to clients within the community. Working closely with our counseling team, the CSW will assist individuals in achieving their mental health goals, fostering independence, and promoting community integration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Community Engagement:

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and community resources.
• Facilitate client participation in community activities and social events.

2. Client Support:

• Assist clients in developing and implementing individualized support plans.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges.

3. Advocacy:

• Advocate for clients' needs within the community and collaborate with external

agencies.

• Assist clients in navigating social services, healthcare, and other support systems.

4. Crisis Intervention:

• Respond to and de-escalate crisis situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Collaborate with the counseling team to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to

crisis management.

5. Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with agency policies.
• Complete and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

6. Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with the counseling and support staff to ensure comprehensive

care.

• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in community support work or a related role.

2. Understanding of mental health challenges and a commitment to promoting recovery.

3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

5. Familiarity with resources and services available in the Washington, DC community.

6. Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
