Marys Center for Maternal and Child Care is Hiring a Family Support Worker Supervisor Near Washington, DC

Position Summary

The Family Support Worker (FSW) Supervisor’s primary responsibility is the supervision of the Family Support Workers as well as the coordination of providing social services and prenatal support services at all Mary’s Center clinic sites. This position also assists the Director of Social Services in the development and implementation of identified programs and special projects related to family support services.

Reportability

This position will report directly to the Director of Social Services. This position will supervise a team of Family Support Workers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Supervision of Family Support Workers:

  • Conduct timely supervision that incorporates professional development, performance reviews, and case conferences with FSWs.
  • Offer skill building and advanced training opportunities in evidence-based practices.
  • Lead FSW staff meetings, participate in team meetings, and collaborate with internal and external resources to utilize any information learned in daily FSW work practices.
  • Participate in the FSW recruitment process, which includes interviewing, orientating, and training FSW new hires.
  • Support internal and external outreach education and presentation on FSW services and how to access care.
  • Use reflective strategies to support FSWs in meeting productivity targets.
  • Review and approve FSW encounter notes in eCW to ensure proper documentation standards according to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Guide staff in problem solving areas of needs and help identify a plan of action to address such needs.
  • Assist the Director of Social Services with planning, developing, and implementing special projects related to family support services.

Coordination of Prenatal Support Services:

  • Assist the Director of Social Services with planning, developing, and maintaining all policies and standard operating procedures related to prenatal support services.
  • Ensure FSWs’ proper training and implementation of pregnancy options counseling services.
  • Liaise with OB and midwifery teams to remain current on staffing, workflows, site capacity, and support on going quality improvement.

Documentation:

  • Review and approve FSWs’ encounter notes within 48 hours from date of submission.
  • Enter and approve own FSW encounter notes within 48 hours from date of service.
  • Ensure all forms are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner with appropriate supporting documents.
  • Upload all participants’ documents and completed forms into electronic health record.
  • Draft grant program and progress reports as required by Director of Social Services.
  • Draft annual performance goal reviews with FSWs.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Gender Studies, Human Services, or related field; or at least 3 years of relevant work experience with 1 year of team management and employee supervisory skills.
  • Provide individualized FSW supervisory skills to maximize professional development and growth.
  • Must possess knowledge of community resources, local service agencies, or local, state, or federal programs/services.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Language Requirement – Ability to communicate effectively in English is required. Additional language proficiency or fluency in Spanish preferred.

Physical Demands – Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work Environment – Mostly in a typical office or clinic setting with quiet to moderate noise level. Opportunity to work a hybrid schedule – remotely & onsite, as needed.
