Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Chef to join our team at our restaurant. As an Assistant Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver high-quality meals to our customers. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about culinary arts and looking to further develop their skills in a professional kitchen environment.

Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and standards
- Help with menu planning, including suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality and taste
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage
- Assist in training new kitchen staff members on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation guidelines
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices

Experience:
- Previous experience working in a catering/restaurant or professional kitchen setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Proficient knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Familiarity with menu planning and creating new dishes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with kitchen staff
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
