Exciting Opportunity: Operations Manager Role for Iconic Milwaukee Bar Group
Do you love Milwaukee, cocktails, and the timeless vibes of the Rat Pack era? If so, keep reading!
I'm John, and I've spent the last 16 years acquiring and nurturing some of America's most iconic, historic bars right here in Milwaukee. Now, with plans to open several more bars in the coming years, I'm on the lookout for exceptional leaders to join me on this exciting journey.
I know the hospitality industry can be tough, we have proven it doesn't have to be. With a shared vision, alignment to common values and compassionate leadership I'm confident we can have it all.
Our current portfolio:
Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge: A lounge dating back to 1938, renowned for its unique approach to cocktails and hospitality. Recognized by prestigious organizations like The James Beard Foundation and featured in many national publications.
At Random Cocktail Lounge, a gem since 1964, and is not only one of the city's coolest lounges, it also has a wonderful patio that is open nearly year around.
Our third location, another location that we are really proud of, is The Estate, also known as The Jazz Estate which dates back to 1977 and is a jazz club and cocktail lounge hybrid that is looking to find its way in the new economy. Currently only open for special events, we are looking to bring the Estate back to it's prominence as one of Milwaukee's best bars.
These venues are not just award-winning bars; they're living artifacts of hospitality history with an incredible following of guests from Milwaukee and far beyond. These properties are the base that we intend to build an iconic bar group that will provide careers to hundreds.
So, here's where you come in:
We're currently on the hunt for an experienced manager to join our team, focusing on restarting and overseeing operations at The Estate and to bring consistent business to 6 nights of operation. This position will primarily oversee the operations of The Estate, though our managers work as a team to problem solve and assist at all three of our locations.
The ideal manager will work with ownership to plan and executer the reopening of this iconic Milwaukee venue and to implement systems that inspire a new generation of hospitality professionals. We value servant leadership and mentorship, applying hospitality not only to our guests but also to our staff.
What We're Looking For:
✨4 years Cocktail Bar, Sit-Down Restaurant, Music Venue, or Bar management experience required. Unfortunately we have found that fast food, quick service, and retail management experience is not equivalent.
✨Cocktail Experience a strong plus
✨Experience working with live music or event planning in a hospitality environment
✨Experience promoting events and products on social media.
✨Master of Hospitality.
✨Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required (after all, we are a cocktail lounge!)
✨Proven leadership skills.
What we are offering:
✨Competitive Salary (dependent on experience)
✨Generous Performance Bonuses in addition to salary
✨Paid Time Off
✨Health Insurance Reimbursement
✨Learning and Advancement Opportunities.
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ:
If working with us sounds like a good fit for your life, we would love for you to apply, but before you do it’s important for you to know what we are NOT. We are not a craft cocktail bar (though we do mix some amazing craft cocktails), we are not a three-deep, high volume party bar (though we do get extremely busy and have lines out the door on the weekends), and we are not the type of establishment where you can give very little or show up checked out. Neither us, our customers, or your team would allow that (and you shouldn’t either)!
In order to succeed here, you have to be in to working at The Estate. You have to be as excited about working at The Estate as our customers are to be visiting The Estate. If you don’t love it here, it just won’t work out. You’ll be unhappy and we’ll be unhappy. We know this and now you do too.
Part of being excited to work at The Estate is working a The Estate and we expect our managers to be on site to learn, lead, guide, and provide an exceptional customer experience.
We are a company that expects our staff to deliver remarkable service to our guests. Our leadership delivers wonderful leadership and coaching to our team. And our ownership delivers support and guidance to our leadership. It is a full team effort to make this one America’s best bars and to provide some of the best hospitality in Milwaukee.
Still interested? Please apply here include a current resume and a note stating why you think you'd be a good fit, we'd love to know a little more about who you are!
