POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a company executive that oversees internal operations and support functions including Finance and Accounting, Business Intelligence, Data Services, Facilities, Security, Information Technology, Marketing, Proposal Management, and Product Development. The COO provides day-to-day management to staff and leadership to the organization that aligns with the company’s business plan and overall strategic vision. The COO motivates and encourages all employees, fosters a growth oriented, positive, and encouraging environment, and keeps employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines. The COO manages the Controller, Director of Mission Support Director, Director of Enterprise Service, and the Business Intelligence Lead.

Strategy and Leadership
Mission Support Functions
Manage the Controller and Director of Mission Support to oversee the following functions and activities:
Finance and Accounting
Business Intelligence
Facilities Management
Information Technology & Cyber Security
Business Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
Enterprise Services Functions
Manage the Director of Enterprise Services in support of the following functions and activities:
Marketing and Visual Communications & Design
Proposal Management
Product Development
Data Services

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: Attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); Ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use judgment, withstand moderate amounts of stress, and maintain attention to detail.
