POSITION DESCRIPTION

As the Risk Consulting Intern, you'll work as part of a team with consultants and senior leaders, helping to develop and implement the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) strategy and plan. You’ll be provided with interactive learning opportunities and gain exposure to the consulting industry and service firm business operations. 

This is a temporary, remote-based internship. The ideal candidate is able to work approximately 20-30 hours per week. The internship position reports to the Chief Risk Officer and cross-collaborates with the Business Intelligence and Mission Support (operations) teams. 

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of The Clearing’s Enterprise Risk Management strategy and management plan
  • Perform research and analysis to identify and assess best practices, relevant standards, and opportunities for improvement, document conclusions, and provide recommendations
  • Support the creation of strategic communications 
  • Support and coordinate project planning and Knowledge Management 
  • Serve as the lead Knowledge Capture agent for project-related meetings
  • Coordinate, attend, and support Enterprise Risk Committee meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • At least 1 year of professional work experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team 
  • Strong prioritization, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficient research and analysis skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Experience with Google Suite software (Sheets, Docs, Slides) preferred, to develop and collaborate on project-related deliverables
  • Comfort navigating new IT tools, such as project management and timekeeping systems

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: Attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); Ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use judgment, withstand moderate amounts of stress, and maintain attention to detail.
