The Bridge Inc. is Hiring an Assistant Program Director Near New York, NY

Job Title: Assistant Program Director, The Center for Wellness & Change

Department: The Center for Wellness and Change (OASAS)

Educational Requirements: M.S.W. or MHC (LCSW or LMHC preferred)

Experience: Work with populations impacted by substance use required; Mental health and group experience preferred; excellent English language skills, both verbal and written; preferred knowledge of AWARDS and the internet; willingness to learn and participate in co-occurring disorder and harm reduction training. 3-5 years of supervisory experience.

Scope of Position: Under the direction of the Program Director, and within the guidelines of all applicable laws, rules, regulations and Agency code of ethics and policies and procedures, the Assistant Director of Substance Use Services will support Program Director in supervision as being a task supervisor for peers and support staff as well as interns.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Provide treatment to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders utilizing personal experience of recovery from alcohol and substance use to provide support and education to clients at different levels of recovery.
  • Will engage with clients using Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed interventions, and other evidence-based practices and other evidence-based practices to encourage and support participants with goal setting, program-solving, and self-monitoring of thoughts, attitudes and behaviors associated with addiction.
  • Provide individual and group counseling and substance abuse treatment to clients; participate in interdisciplinary team meetings for the development of treatment plans and treatment plan reviews.
  • Manage the Intake and Admission process and assist with intakes when necessary
  • Engage with members who are dis-engaged with the program
  • Manages Crises that arises and responsible for creating policies surrounding crisis management and policies that ensure effective and appropriate services
  • Monitoring team documentation in supporting Program Director in monitoring productivity
  • Facilitates team huddles and meetings and manages day to day with and in the absence of Program Director
  • Assist Program Director in expanding Opioid Overdose Prevention Program within OASAS ensuring that all clients are offered kits and are trained.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provide individual and group therapy when necessary.
  • Document provision of services in electronic and paper charts and maintain up-to-date charts in accordance with program requirements.
  • Provide support during crises as well de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Leading and co-leading team meetings.
  • Coordinate care with other Bridge departments, outside agencies and families.
  • Perform related administrative and record keeping duties, including correspondence, reports, filing.
  • Attend staff meetings, supervision, conferences, and trainings, as required.
  • Adhere to all approved Bridge policies and procedures.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to speak clearly and hear the spoken word well.
  • Regularly required to physically operate routine office equipment such as telephones, computers (including an electronic health record), fax machines, copiers, etc.
  • Regularly required to meet with clients in the office and in the community using customary modes of public transportation.
  • Regularly required to utilize near vision ability to read data and documents, including spreadsheets and reports, in printed form and on computer screens.
  • This position requires moderate travel throughout the New York City metropolitan area using various modes of transportation including NYC buses and subways.

Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Master’s degree required; LMHC/LCSW preferred; Knowledge of theories, principles, and techniques of individual and group counseling and substance abuse treatment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
