This is a full-time, on-site position in Overland Park, Kansas.

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
  • Monitor budget performance and variance analysis, providing recommendations for corrective actions where necessary.
  • Conduct financial analysis to assess company performance, profitability, and trends.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and overall financial improvement.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for financial audits.
  • Manage cash flow to meet operational requirements and optimize liquidity.
  • Lead and develop a team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, benefits, and deductions.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Implement payroll best practices and streamline payroll processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (3 years minimum) in financial management, accounting, or auditing roles.
  • Experience completing payroll function and working in ADP or similar software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to think strategically and provide insights to support business objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and confidentiality in handling financial and payroll information.
