TCP Transitional Care Physicians is Hiring a Referral and Authorization Coordinator Near San Antonio, TX
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year in the health care industry working in a medical office.
- Has experience and knowledge of processing primary care service referrals.
- Must have knowledge of commercial and managed care insurance plans.
- ICD-10 and CPT coding experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of the benefits investigation process which includes deductible, out of pocket and benefit exclusions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels, both oral and written.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Experience with Athena Health EMR preferred but not required.
- Performs general office duties that require a proficiency in communication and organizational skills.
- Provide great customer service.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual that can work well with deadlines.
- Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Computer skills and software aptitude.
- Communicate effectively with insurance providers, referral sources, and providers on any issues or follow ups.
- Knowledge of insurance requirements and basic medical terminology.
- Works closely with insurance companies to gain proper authorization for any specialty drugs that require prior authorization.
- Process of referrals to ensure timely transmission and start of services.
- Process incoming and outgoing medical record requests.
- Perform other related duties as indicated by clinic needs or when requested by manager.
- Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
