We seek a self-directed individual with healthcare skills to perform a variety of patient care tasks in a low volume direct primary care medical office.

Direct Primary Care is a membership-based model of care which does not participate in insurance billing. All staff experience a more relaxed, relationship-based care model.

Job Duties

Medical Assistant Tasks

• Phone calls and scheduling - answer questions, schedule appointments, enroll new patients, triage medical needs, communicate with vendors, hospitals, other offices
• Triage and respond to other incoming communication in a timely and efficient manner: patient portal, mail, email, EHR
• Greet and check out patients
• Assist physicians with procedures and exams as needed
• Perform point of service testing to include glucose, throat and nasal swabs, urine tests
• Perform medication supply inventory
• Assure patients charts are organized and up to date and all appropriate paperwork has been completed
• Assist with Commercial Driver’s License exams and testing

Phlebotomist

• Perform venipuncture on adults and children
• Use technology as related to specimen collection, specimen flow, and specimen referral
• Performs and records laboratory testing procedures
• Collects payment, as needed, for charges that may accompany blood draws and tests
• Collects DOT drug screen samples using DOT certified drug standards–will train
• Perform Alcohol Breath Screenings using set standards–will train
• Administers basic first aid to patients who have fainted during puncture procedure; recognizes and requests emergent assistance when needed
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and supplies at workstation
• Perform product inventory for lab supplies

Hourly rate starts at $17-20 based on experience
