Announcement Information
Looking for at least 1 year commitment for Winter and Fall semester. 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday.
Individual has to be enrolled in school to be an intern.
Part-time Non-Eligible employees are not part of the Oakland County Merit System. These positions are limited to 1,000 hours per calendar year and are not eligible for benefits. A closing notice may be posted when a sufficient number of applications have been received to meet current needs.

Job Summary

Performs entry level casework duties of moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training in juvenile justice. Performs assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance. May perform duties such as gathering and organizing data to provide information for departmental special projects or reports; assist in preparing written reports; accompany professional level employees on assignments; conduct interviews with clients or community agencies to obtain basic information for departmental use; contacts other County departments or outside agencies by phone to request or give information and other related duties as assigned. Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the Court's organizational structure. Responsible for traveling to various locations outside of the Circuit Court to conduct community visits. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

At time of application, application must Must meet one of the following requirements with a major in criminal justice, psychology, social work, counseling or closely related area:
A. Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a junior/senior status (equates to steps 3 or 4 of salary range).
B. Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a graduate degree program (equates to steps 5 or 6 of salary range).
