T-Minus Zero is Hiring a Remote Director of HR

An essential part of creating enduring and engaging games is the team. To support the growth and development of these teams, which is essential as the studio grows, we’re hiring a Director of HR to lead these strategic initiatives. You will report to the VP of Operations and lead the studio’s people function. You will be an essential part of the leadership team and will be expected to create and adapt the studio's HR strategies for each phase of the studio’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all HR functions for the studio in collaboration with the teams at the corporate level of our company. These include Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, and HR Operations. You will ensure collaboration between the studio and various functions to further the overall HR strategy for T-Minus Zero Entertainment.
  • Collaborate as a strategic partner with the HR team at NetEase to establish trust, maintain relationships, and ensure compliance expectations are met.
  • Provide a unique perspective on the leadership team and be a thought leader by partnering with the other functional leaders in the studio to advise, manage, and deliver measurable performance and results.
  • Develop scalable and appropriate long-term growth strategies as the studio evolves. Collaborate with leadership to manage the change that is inevitable with game development.
  • Steward the studio's culture in partnership with the leadership team to create an environment that embodies Embrace the Unusual, Create Collaboratively, Don’t Overthink It, and Cultivate Curiosity in all aspects.
  • Shape and deploy talent programs that are appropriate and applicable for all stages of the employee lifecycle. This includes building a clear framework for performance management, career development, and employee engagement.
  • Coach and mentor team members and leadership peers.
  • Use a data-driven approach to analyze trends, inform decisions, and implement actions to increase productivity and improve processes.

Desired Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in all areas of HR. Previous game industry experience is a plus. Must have breadth of experience in Talent Management and Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, and Employee Relations.
  • Has spent some or most of their experience in HR teams that have built top-notch, well-respected HR programs.
  • Can communicate and lead an organization with various styles and priorities. Understands the nuances of teams made up of specialized, creative, and technical individuals and can transition their approach to influence all groups.
  • Prior success aligning HR strategies with desired business outcomes. Able to collaborate with leadership, advise, and contribute to all aspects of business operations and culture.
  • Experienced in building HR programs that can be applied consistently in remote/hybrid environments and with employee populations in Canada and the United States.

Compensation Range: $140,000 - 180,000
