Description

Swanson Rink is an established and growing engineering firm specializing in mission critical data center facilities, aviation project and commercial work. Swanson Rink works on exciting and challenging projects all over the country for large national clients. As we continue to grow we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team.

Swanson Rink’s Project Managers partner with our clients and team members to execute highly technical projects. As part of the Swanson Rink team the Project Manager is engaged with clients from proposal development through project execution.

  1. Manages projects and tasks through a thorough understanding of industry-standard design/engineering and construction relationships; including Owner/Architect, Owner/Engineer, Architect/Engineer, and Owner/Contractor.
  2. Manages day-to-day client interaction, sets and manages client expectations and continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships recognizing that client, owner, contractor and code enforcement authority perceptions of the firm are formed by the manner in which the firm manages and performs its work.
  3. Recognizes and helps avoid or mitigate potential professional liability issues and advises project staff and management of such instances.
  4. Creates and executes project work plans and schedules utilizing Swanson Rink processes and forms, and continuously updates or revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  5. Identifies resources needed for projects and coordinates assignment process and appropriate staffing. Arranges for the engagement of specialty or other discipline resources needed for projects and coordinates the performance of required support services, including identifying areas in which specialized technical expertise is needed.
  6. Coordinates the technical scope review of deliverables prepared by team for conformance with Swanson Rink standards and client expectations before passing to client. Takes a lead role in design/specifications quality assurance, both for work personally.
  7. performed and for ensuring that validation, verification and checking of work performed by others is accomplished.
  8. Analyzes and forecasts project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  9. Tracks invoicing procedures (labor and expense) to assure billings are timely and properly prepared and procedures conform to the terms of the Agreement.
  10. Exhibits an in depth familiarity with the industry and it subtleties, which facilitates:
  • an anticipation and avoidance of client, vendor, and contractor issues or a proactive approach to the issues as they are emerging.
  • understanding how best to position recommendations and solutions in a manner that leads to successful project outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field, from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university, plus minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Engineering or Construction Management which may be related to a specific engineering discipline such as commercial, industrial or institutional buildings.

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or Architect is highly desired.
  • Must be available to travel occasionally.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Requires the ability to pass background checks or security screenings as required by our clients.

Salary will be based on several factors including: experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity. The pay range and benefits offered for this position is expected to be: $80,000 - $105,000. Health care benefits, company paid holidays, Paid Time Off, 401(k)
