The Wastewater Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for the performance of project team members and will work closely with team members to provide high-quality deliverables on time and on budget to AE2S clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as project manager, client manager and/or senior technical resource for clients.
- Manage and provide professional services for wastewater engineering projects to include planning, study, design, and construction administration on projects related to wastewater collection and treatment.
- Lead consulting, engineering, and design teams through projects to successfully deliver complex wastewater infrastructure.
- Develop scope and fee estimates for projects, maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments, and control the technical direction of projects.
- Manage performance and effectively delegate tasks to project team members including Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians.
- Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients. Capture solicited and unsolicited opportunities.
- Manage project pursuit and proposal efforts. Provide innovative and creative solutions to challenging wastewater problems. Coordinate and collaborate with marketing staff to ensure our proposals address client needs.
- Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver high quality projects that exceed clients’ expectations. Ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget.
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
- Anticipate project related problems before they occur and work with the team and supervisors as appropriate to develop a mitigation plan.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 7 years of experience in environmental engineering and consulting industry, specifically in the water/wastewater sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on-time and on-budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
- Knowledge of project financials.
- Knowledge of funding programs.
Physical
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear.
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town.
