Highland Chateau Health and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Full-TimeAssistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team!

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining quality of care throughout the entire facility. He or she will also be required to manage and train our nursing staff. The ideal candidate for this position has previous experience in a nursing leadership position, a strong ability to work with a team, and an in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry.

Assistant Director of Nursing

Reporting to the administrator, the DON is responsible for nursing services within our skilled nursing facility. As a leader in the organization, it is essential that the director of nursing understand, value, and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization in providing care to our residents and staff.

Responsibilities for Assistant Director of Nursing:

1. Leading the nursing department, its programs, and activities in accordance with current regulations.
2. Developing strong working relationships with staff, residents, and residents' families.
3. Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff to work to the best of their abilities to provide our resident’s care.
4. Supporting a strong sense of teamwork among clinical staff and with all departments in the organization while supporting resident-centered care.
5. Developing and maintaining written policies and procedures for day-to-day functions of the nursing home with a focus on resident-centered care.
6. Assessing staffing levels and working with the administrator, director of human resources, and chief financial officer to make recommendations for any staffing changes.
7. Working closely with the Scheduling Department to ensure that each shift is appropriately staffed with licensed nurses and CNAs.

Education and Experience for Assistant Director of Nursing:

1. Current RN license in the State of Minnesota
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a supervisory role in health care is required; experience in a nursing home setting is preferred.
3. Knowledge of nursing, medical practices, and procedures; solid understanding of nursing home regulations.
4. Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex medical terminology and situations to residents and families.
5. Experience planning, organizing, developing, and evaluating programs, goals, and objectives necessary for providing quality care.
6. Willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
7. Strong leadership skills with experience leading a diverse team.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels of an organization, residents, and family members.
