Northstar Behavioral Health Network is Hiring a Director of Nursing Services Near Saint Paul, MN
- Reports Directly to Vice President of Operations
- Utilize nursing knowledge and skills in the safe implementation of basic preventive therapeutic and rehabilitative nursing care of assigned patient as evidenced by documentation and observation of positive patient care outcomes.
- Maintain and coordinate communication among client, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client and health care team feedback.
- Client Admissions
- Assist in assuring that effective communication exists with patient as reflected in the plan of care. Give punctual change of shift report consisting of pertinent and relevant information for assigned patients.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
- Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated.
- Works with DON to ensure compliance
- Works with DON to coordinate intakes and Holistic Care Plan Management
- Responsible to cover shifts when nursing team is on PTO
- Responsible for delegation to LPN team, including caseloads, scheduling, and determing client needs
- Work with DON to implement policies and procedures
- Assure that all staff are current on their Mantoux test
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Participate in new employee orientation
- Provide direct nursing care as necessary
- Monitor nursing service personnel to assure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies
- Maintain the confidentiality of all client care information
- Assure that all staff have a current CPR and First Aid Certificate. Conduct CPR/First Aid training as needed.
- Assist with development and implementation of methods for coordination of medical services with other client services to ensure the continuity of the clients' total regimen.
- Participate in inspections made by DHS.
- Must know and understand the implications of 245G, sections 245A.65, 626.557, and 626.5572, and Chapter 260E.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Must have two years of freedom from chemical use problems
- Must pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
- CPR Certification or attain within 30 days
- Ability to use Microsoft office programs and other computer skills
