Description

Northstar Behavioral Health Network is seeking a Licensed Assessor (LADC) to conduct in person comprehensive assessments for individuals that may be candidates for substance use disorder treatment. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the provision of treatment services, including the Initial Service Plan and Comprehensive Assessment, in compliance with Minnesota Statute 245G.

• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Treatment Services
•  Develop initial service plans addressing clients' immediate health, safety, and service needs upon service initiation.
• Complete comprehensive assessments and assessment summaries of clients' chemical use problems within three calendar days after service initiation, formatted using the ASAM criteria.
•  Maintain uniformity in client record content and format, ensuring all entries are appropriately signed and dated.
•  Initiate communication with client referrals, probation, social service agencies, etc,
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

•  Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be qualified as an alcohol and drug counselor according to MN Statute 245G.11 subdivision 5
• Must possess a current Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills
• Should have been free of chemical use problems for a minimum of two years preceding hire.
•  Ability to align with Northstar’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Proficiency in providing chemical health assessments and crisis intervention.
• Documented competence in screening for and working with clients with mental health problems, acquired through education, training, and experience.
•  Knowledge and understanding of relevant statutes and chapters.
•  Successfully complete a background study conducted by the MN Dept of Human Services.
