Key Position Functions Include:

• The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• The Accounting Manager supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements
• Respond to inquiries from Controller and President and others regarding financial results, meeting input and special requests
• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
• Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Supports budget and forecasting activities
• Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Advises staff regarding the handling on non-routine reporting transactions
• Responds to inquiries from the Controller regarding financials results, special requests, etc.
• Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
• Comply with Federal and State requirements, ensuring required statutory and regulatory registrations are in place and filing returns and financial reports.
• Advise management on necessary action items
• Continually strive to optimize taxation exposure
• Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
• Provide training to new and existing staff as needed
• Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvement

Preferred Candidate Will Possess A Combination of the Following:

• BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA preferred
• 5 to 7 years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
• Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience preferred.
• Superior Excel skills, strong knowledge of MS Office
• ERP/MRP Experience required; SAP experience preferred
• Familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS
• Sage 500 experience would be considered an asset
• Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - ability to create accountability and commitment towards achieving positive results
• A commitment to workplace health and safety
• Action oriented and attention to detail
• A solid reputation for integrity and delivering on commitments
• Well-developed customer relations skills
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is a definite asset
• Familiar with Federal and State tax law
• The position will require the candidate to respond timely to the Controller and Business leaders ensuring the internal customer deadlines are met, resulting in potential need to work as required during evenings.
• This role will involve significant time using computer systems and will have extended periods of sitting in an office setting, it will require focus to ensure accuracy regardless of deadline pressures. Also, attention to detail while working on several tasks is essential.
