Job Description

As a Legal Assistant at Stivers Law, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the efficient functioning of our boutique law firm. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, ensuring the seamless operation of the legal processes and contributing to the overall success of the firm. Here is a list of your standard job duties:

40% Prepare and Manage Client Estate Plans

  • Prepare and review legal documents including but not limited to: agreements, documents, contracts, and letters
  • Assist attorney(s) in preparation for estate planning meetings and other legal matters
  • Track and manage assigned deliverables using designated software and tracking systems. Proactively communicates when deadlines are at risk of being missed
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings with clients to collect information needed for their estate plan case
  • Print and assemble portfolio binders, packets, Trust ID cards, and letters for clients
  • Assist with or conduct signing meetings including being able to explain what the clients are signing and follow-up steps
  • Keep all databases up to date with client information
  • Keep clients up to date on the status of their case
  • Process deeds
  • Assist with and manage post-mortem estate planning activities including probate and trust administration
  • Meet established production metrics
  • Adhere to all other Stivers Law policies and procedures

40% Probate Administration Activities

  • Manage probate administration cases (uncontested) from open to close

10% Law Firm Administrative Activities

  • Send letters to fiduciaries offering free meeting
  • Provide administrative support for attorney(s)
  • Assist with sending information to prospects and clients through email and mail
  • Track and report on production including number of cases open, cases closed, days aging for open cases, and turnaround time on closed cases
  • Conduct legal research and drafting as requested

10% Complete other projects and other assignments as requested

By performing these comprehensive job duties, you will contribute to the success of Stivers Law by maintaining a high level of professionalism, efficiency, and dedication to our clients and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
