Overview

Stellar is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing payroll for a large organization, proficiency with UKG (formerly known as Ultimate Kronos Group) software, and a strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and payroll tax laws. Responsibilities

• Oversee the payroll process for 700 employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all payroll-related activities
• Utilize UKG software to manage payroll data, process payroll runs, and generate payroll reports
• Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and tax laws across multiple states to ensure compliance
• Calculate and process payroll taxes accurately and on time
• Supervise and mentor a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance and support as needed
• Collaborate with HR and finance departments to resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
• Produce, balance, and file 1099s and W2s
• Liaise with HR/Benefits teams on the administration and maintenance of 401K and benefits plans
• Review payroll account reconciliations and recording of payroll related journal entries
• Implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations and increase efficiency
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner
• Participate in payroll audits and provide necessary documentation and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus
• 5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Proficiency with UKG software or similar payroll systems is required
• Strong understanding of multi-state payroll regulations and payroll tax laws
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion with sensitive payroll information
