The Payroll Assistant will assist with various administrative duties within the Payroll department. This position will be responsible for responding to employee inquiries in the payroll ticketing system, inputting employee data in the payroll system, processing unemployment verifications and garnishments, reviewing tax forms, and other tasks on an as-needed basis.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Accurately inputs and updates employee information into the payroll system.
· Responds to employee inquiries in the payroll ticketing system in a timely manner.
· Assists employees with payroll-related forms and documentation.
· Provides support during the payroll processing cycle.
· Verifies data accuracy and assists with any necessary corrections.
· Assists in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and labor laws.
· Prepares and organizes payroll-related documents for audits.
· Compiles data for routine payroll analysis.
· Escalates more complex issues to the payroll supervisor or manager.
· Performs general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
· Assists in the preparation of payroll-related documents and reports.
· Participates in team meetings and trainings.
· Processes unemployment verifications and garnishments.
· Reviews tax forms, ensuring correct information.
