Human Resources Generalist

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary

Reports to: Director of Global Human Resources

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Summary

As the Human Resources Generalist, you are responsible for employment administration, onboarding and orientation of the workforce, workforce analysis, attendance control, administration and discipline assessment, EEOC, payroll functions and other workplace investigations. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for effectively identifying, investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Partners with Plant Manager and entire Fabrication leadership team to ensure a complete understanding of human capital needs and objectives.
  • Effectively manages the recruiting process to attract high quality candidates motivated to achieve productivity and business objectives, and ensures training and development of those candidates is conducted.
  • Counsels and provides assistance to employees, and all levels of management, in employee or management issues relating to promotion, termination or disciplinary action.
  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Reviews employee performance evaluations to ensure integrity of the evaluation system, and manages the monthly performance improvement program at the fabrication facility.
  • Maintains and Audits training files.
  • Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems. Report’s vacation, sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling. Maintains and distributes report of same.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes.
  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs weekly payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Coordinates and monitors employees’ programs.
  • Facilitates onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Coordinates employees’ special events
  • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may require occasional weekend work.


Required Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.


Preferred Education and Experience

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • ADP Workforce Now.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be qualified to work in the United States.


Work Authorization

Must be authorized to work in USA.
