Job Title: Director, Human Resource Department
Reports To: President
Job Summary:
Leads and manages human resources, payroll, benefits and compensation policies, practices and processes ensuring effective implementation and communication of new practices and policies within the company. Oversee safety department, recruitment, and travel.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee HR/Payroll/Safety/Recruitment/Travel staff
• Develop proposals on change initiatives; implement and communicate change plans
• Monitor the overall organizational climate and employee morale
• Provide metrics, analysis and feedback to management on employee relations issues
• Advise managers and employees on employee relation issues using sound judgment and a solution-oriented approach
• Provide support and guidance to managers on HR best practices and legal parameters
• Ensure all HR and Payroll administrative functions are performed efficiently and effectively.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of HR and Payroll processes; recommend and implement improvements
• Responsible for company handbook and communication of company policies
• Coordinate and manage company benefit plans
• Provide reports for management as requested
• Perform projects for management as requested
Education/Experience/Skill:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5-8 years of HR experience at the professional/management level
• Direct working knowledge of major HR functions
• Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflicts
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
