About the positionThe Management Analyst 4 (MA4) will support the Buildings & Grounds Division by providing senior level professional analysis in all aspects of business management. The position conducts multi-dimensional research and analysis, formulating recommendations, and coordinating implementation of ongoing evaluation of programs and strategic and long-range planning activities. This role will provide consultation to executive management in developing policies and streamlining procedures and aids in leading agency process improvement teams. You will also be expected to support other management teams by helping to track metrics and by resolving a variety of management issues. Your advanced knowledge of using Excel and basic SQL skills will be essential to developing complex reports, charts, graphs and other reporting tools. Work should be completed in a timely and efficient manner adhering to strict deadlines and expectations for accurate, high-quality work. The selected incumbent will be expected to assist with ongoing projects and will help in researching, planning, developing and instituting improvements of new business systems, migration of old mission critical business systems, and enhancement of existing ones.
This position must interact with program managers, B&G staff members, other members from DES divisions, public agencies, professional consultants, contractors, and the general public. Work is assigned both in writing and verbally depending on the assignment.

About the DivisionThe
Buildings & Grounds Division (B&G) is responsible for the Capitol Campus and Department of Enterprise Services (DES) managed building operations, stewardship, and historic preservation. B&G provides service to over 42 agencies, maintains, operates and preserves the 486-acre state Capitol Campus in Olympia, including more than 28 buildings, 18 public monuments, over 6,000 parking stalls, four state parks and a 260-acre lake. B&G executes these responsibilities through the following service programs:
Facilities Operations, Grounds Operations, Leadership and Admin, Maintenance & Repairs, Support Services (Custodial).

Duties
Some of what you will be doing
Collaborate with senior management in development and institution of software system improvements
- Implement improvements of current Mainsaver software system
- Perform system testing, data auditing and cleanup, and aid in training sessions, development of instructional materials and implementation of new processes and features
Collaborate with senior management in initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closing of projects
- Procure resources, schedule project meetings, communicating with project stakeholders
Process and manage requested updates to Preventative Maintenance program
- Serve as primary contact for team members requesting changes to preventative maintenance work order or schedules
Collaborate with internal team(s), other divisions, customers, and vendors
- Use interpersonal skills to facilitate communication and success with a diverse group of people in a variety of roles
- Attend meetings that may include internal staff, staff from other divisions or agencies, internal or external customers or vendors
Other duties as assigned in support of the Buildings & Grounds Division
- Extract, manipulate and synthesize data for complex analysis, reports, or other tasks in support of senior management and program initiatives
- Demonstrate advanced Excel, strong grammar and editing, and basic SQL skills in the development of complex reports, charts, graphs, and other reporting tools
Serve as primary backup for Supervisor
- Attend meetings, take notes, provide backup, and represent supervisor as needed when they are not available due to conflicting responsibilities
