The Laboratory Support Assistant position will be working with our Post-Analytical Reporting Team (PART) in a variety of duties such as entry of sample and patient data into appropriate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), answering submitter questions regarding sample submission process and giving test results, preparing result reports for mailing, and many other support duties. A candidate selected for this position would have the opportunity to transition to a hybrid remote/on-location role after completing all required training and continuing to meet all performance expectations.

What you’ll do:

• Utilizing various Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) such as OpenELIS, OpenELIS 2 and NATUS, enters provider, patients and demographic information for all specimens and samples submitted to the laboratory.
• Work closely with providers in answering submitter’s questions regarding result reports, turnaround times or submission questions. Have a thorough working knowledge and understanding of Federal HIPAA requirements specifically as it relates to laboratory results and the release of laboratory results to submitters and patients.
• Scan paper test request forms to scanning software so attachments to the various LIMS or storage software can be accomplished. Quality review the scanned image.
• Assist in Central Accessioning with continuous review, process improvements, and implementation of laboratory accessioning processes to facilitate rapid laboratory testing and result reporting.
• Works with Central Services staff on assembling sample test kits assuring the integrity of the materials for delivery; refurbishing sample test kit components; building sample test kits; and processes and distributes mail to laboratory spaces.

• High school diploma or equivalent and 0-1 years of relevant experience
