Job Title: DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
Immediate Supervisor: Chief Development Officer
Supervises: Philanthropy Database Manager, Grants Manager, and Donor Coordinator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The St. Louis Area Foodbank is adding a Director of Development to our dynamic Philanthropy team. This position is responsible for overseeing all development operations, including philanthropy data strategy and management, prospect research, direct marketing campaigns, annual giving campaigns, grant writing and reporting, programs and processes for donor stewardship, department budgeting, reporting, and analytics. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader of people, energetic, ambitious, goal-oriented, and creative, with a successful track record for building strong and productive relationships both internally and externally.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Development is responsible for identifying and growing the people, programs, and processes needed to increase community support for St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Working both independently and collaboratively, this individual will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of day-to-day philanthropy operations, with a strong focus on continuous improvement. He/she/they will oversee a robust direct marketing program, working closely with selected vendors and internal key stakeholders. This Director must be data driven and capable of identifying and improving systems. The ideal candidate must be an organized, critical thinker with the ability to implement systems and enhance processes while effectively delivering results within tight time constraints.
