Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead in network design and implementation.
Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
Installs and configure computer network equipment.
Maintain network connectivity of all computer workstations.
Provide network support to users.
Develop and monitor policies for the use of network resources.
Implement and manage disaster recovery and back-up.
Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
Monitor network to ensure optimal performance.
Create and maintain network users/permissions.
Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.
Research security enhancements.
Stay up-to-date on information trends and security standards.
Provide application implementation support, technical guidance, and serves as primary resolution point for all systems.
Works with complex workflows and workgroups, demonstrating knowledge of integrated workflows and applications as well as perform problem analysis to provide system solutions that align with organizational goals.
Maintains and supports all enterprise information systems infrastructure, including PACS, voice recognition/reporting systems, and other advanced processing workstations/systems.
Works collaboratively with end-users to understand workflows and develop system support, including analysis of business needs and user needs. Also works to translate into proper system requirement specifications and create documentation of requirements.
Takes on-call for system application support at scheduled times.
Applies systems development methodology to solve problems.
Develops test plans, prepares test data, and performs system testing.
Monitor Service Desk email boxes and handle level 3 requests
Create and send messages to End Users when a service is unavailable or to announce planned downtime.
Perform password resets, account activations.
Escalate issues that are deemed to be critical.
Perform audit tasks assigned to the Service Desk.
Records, tracks, and reports on all End User incidents and service requests through to completion within defined and documented Service Desk SLA’s.
Proactively research and stay abreast of new technology.
Participate in appropriate user forums, planning sessions, and status meetings.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Windows or the workstation operating system currently being used.
Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS/Nexus.
Advanced knowledge of software and networking protocols is essential.
(BG,OSP,RIP)
Advanced knowledge of network connectivity, integration, and protocols.
(Subnetting, routing, trunking and fiber channel)
Advanced knowledge of Firewalls and configuration. (Checkpoint preferred)
(VPN site to site, ACL's, Zones, NAT, PORT, Logs, Security)
General knowledge of operating systems and understanding of database constructs.
Configuration and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts in ways that are appropriate to the requirements of the information technology staff.
Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage, multiple concurrent assignments and tasks.
Ability to quickly identify problems and implement solutions with minimal downtime.
Using logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches.
