EVENT DIRECTOR
Rhubarb Hospitality Collection is looking for an experienced Event Director to join our New York team.
We proudly create the most spectacular events in New York and beyond. From beautiful canapé receptions to elegant weddings and exquisite charity gala dinners, we deliver events with deliciously different flair.
TITLE: Event Director
DEPARTMENT: Catering Sales
REPORTS TO: Director of Sales
The ideal candidate is meticulous, eager, open minded, and fanatical about building memorable experiences centered around delicious food and beverage. You will be responsible for each event from receipt of the initial inquiry through to event execution, whilst working in tandem with our Operations and Production teams to bring the event to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Proactively identify, solicit, and cultivate new clients
Design, develop, and sell catered events tailored to client priorities and preferences
Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers
Achieve individual yearly budgeted sales goals
Assist clients with menu selection, wine selection, service planning, and equipment rentals
Communicate necessary event expectations, information, execution details to appropriate internal departments
Create, distribute, and follow up with client proposals, contracts, further planning documents
Entertain potential and existing clients and conduct site tours and venue walk-throughs as needed
Collect deposits and payments associated with event contracts
Attend events, follow up with clients to solicit feedback, maintain relationship to encourage repeat business
Various projects/ tasks as needed
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
5 years? experience in event sales and management role
Knowledge of practices and procedures of off-premises catering
Proven background in strategizing and executing catering sales
Strong guest service orientation and skills
Proven revenue and budget management skills
Detail and results oriented
Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Ability to negotiate, influence and sell prospective clients
Compensation Details
Compensation: Salary ($75,000.00 - $85,000.00)
