Location: We are seeking a HR Assistant for the Sodexo Live at University of Michigan Athletic Campus.

Principal Function:
Through practical work experience on site, the intern will acquire management, leadership and recruitment skills with Sodexo Live! This internship will take place at the University of Michigan Athletic Campus.

This position is part of a formal internship program in the Sports & Leisure industry. The intern will support business units and assist in projects. It will allow the student to build skills and knowledge in large corporate and team environments.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide variety of professional, technical, administrative and office support duties.
• May coordinate the intake process of new hires/rehired employees.
• Facilitate paperwork and associated processes for proper orientation of newly hired employees.
• Process and upload documents to the employee personnel file.
• Assist with coaching, leadership, employee investigations and employee engagement/activities.
• Support, leverage and expand the effectiveness and capabilities of unit-level workforce through focus on positive employee experiences, fostering teamwork, building strong team relationships and sharing information to build team awareness.
• Assisting with sourcing and attracting candidates by using databases, social media, etc.
• Team with Human Resources Manager in the performance of other HR tasks; Participate in special projects related to the development and implementation of organizational HR business strategies.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1-2 years of previous work experience in an HR role, with some knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration and emphasis on recruitment.
• Previous work experience in a fast-paced, complex sport and leisure industry.
• Polished and professional image.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize and work successfully both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Exceptional ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Keen ability to connect easily with others and create positive positioning within a particular context or subject matter.
• Technologically savvy, with high proficiency in all Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated success in interfacing with a variety of organizational functions and divisions to accomplish tasks.
