Sloomoo Institute is a rapidly growing interactive experience based on play, #satisfying through handmade slime, tapping into the senses, and ASMR. We are an art-inspired, immersive haven of color, design and joy. Launched in NYC in the fall of 2019, Sloomoo Institute has been an enormous success, attracting hundreds of thousands of guests and billions of media impressions. Position Summary:

The General Manager will play a critical role in the launch and operational success of our Los Angeles location. This position is responsible for both strategic and daily operations, leading a team of 40-150 employees to deliver an exceptional guest experience while also managing the production of thousands of tons of slime annually. The ideal candidate will be incredibly detail-focused, able to manage projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams in a corporate setting, and maintain the cleanliness and glossy feel of a 13,000 sq foot space plus a 10,000 sq foot production facility. The candidate will create an inclusive culture, have an eye on the bottom line, deliver an outstanding guest experience, and demonstrate a positive, empowering leadership style.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Strategic Management: Oversee all aspects of the Sloomoo Institute's operations, from guest experience to slime production, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and products. This includes the nuanced understanding of high-profile people and celebrities, emphasizing the importance of consistent branding and image associated with hospitality and entertainment brands.
• Team Management: Provide leadership and line management, fostering an environment that supports growth, innovation, and fun.
• Team Building and Leadership: Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, resilience, and excellence.
• Financial Oversight: Full P&L responsibility, including developing and managing a multi-million-dollar budget, forecasting, and ensuring profitability.
• Marketing and Brand Development: Execute marketing strategies and engage with influencers to enhance brand visibility and foster partnerships. Emphasize playfully theatrical branding that resonates with our unique audience.
• Operational Excellence: Develop Standard Operating Procedures, manage procurement, inventory, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Manage the daily logistics of producing at least 500 gallons of slime a day, delivery from office space, including not just slime but all supplies, storage, and merchandising.
• Product Development: Lead the creation and rollout of new slime products, focusing on innovation and quality.
• Safety and Compliance: Lead Health & Safety Committee meetings and manage incident reporting to maintain a safe environment for all.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior success in launching/managing startups, especially in entertainment or hospitality
• Management Skills: Capability to lead in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial management and analysis.
• Community and Brand Building: Experience in effective marketing and community engagement.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Commitment to innovation and sustainable practices.
• Educational Background: Preferred bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
