Growing specialty practice with locations in Mandeville, Hammond, and Slidell LA is in search of Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant(s) to join our METAIRIE team. The ideal candidate(s) will be team players who carry out assigned tasks to help our providers deliver exceptional medical care to our patients.

Daily tasks include:

· Entering patient’s clinical history, medications, etc. in EMR system.

· Preparing the patient for the encounter with provider.

· Assisting the provider with documenting the encounter in the EMR system.

· Pre-authorize prescription, orders, procedures, etc. as assigned.

· Ordering medical supplies per practice guidelines.

· Cleaning and sterilizing medical instruments following practice guidelines.

· Maintaining sanitary patient and work environment following practice guidelines.

Ideal candidate must:

· Possess a strong knowledge of medical terminology.

· Possess strong knowledge of the insurance authorization process.

· Effectively and professionally communicate with patients, physicians, co-workers and hospital staff, as well as insurance carriers.

· Possess the ability to coordinate multiple time-sensitive task in detail.

· Possess strong oral and written communication skills.

· Possess a working knowledge of modern office procedures and office equipment, including strong computer skills and typing ability.

· Possess the ability to remain focused and on task in a busy work environment.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License/Certification:

• Medical Assistant certificate for LA (Preferred)
• BLS Certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
