Introduction

We are looking for an organized and caring Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will provide an important link between the patient, the healthcare team, and the clinical environment. You will be responsible for managing and organizing patient records, preparing exam rooms, and assisting with exams and treatments. You should have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to maintain a respectful and compassionate attitude. Job Responsibilities

•  Perform administrative and clerical tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing patient records
•  Take vital signs and obtain medical histories of patients
•  Assist physicians with exams and procedures
•  Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain medical equipment
•  Administer medications and injections, collect specimens, and perform laboratory tests
•  Provide patient education on topics such as disease prevention, medications, diet and nutrition
•  Compile and maintain medical records, coding and insurance information
•  Schedule diagnostic tests and follow-up appointments
•  Process insurance claims and answer billing inquiries
•  Respond to patient inquiries and provide general information about the practice

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

•  High school diploma or equivalent
•  Completion of an accredited medical assistant program

CORE COMPETENCIES

•  Knowledge of medical terminology
•  Experience in a medical office setting
•  Excellent customer service and communication skills
•  Ability to multitask and prioritize
•  Knowledge of medical office procedures
•  Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
•  Proficient with using medical office equipment
•  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Current CPR Certification required.
